Download Speed.

People confuse of this two because two word sound same Mbps or MBps, actually it was.

I will explain the different.

Bit

Acronym for Bit is b

bit can only store binary value (1 or 0)

8 bit = 1 Byte

Combining of 8 bits to form a single character. For example, character “M” in binary form is “0100 1101”

ISP using Bit to determine the internet speed.

50 Mbps = 50 Mega bits per second = 50,000,000. Which mean the speed for data transfer

is Fifty Million Bits for every seconds.

So how to know our DOWNLOAD SPEED?

First to know, to measure the size of file is using "Bytes" for example (1.4GB = 1.4 GigaBytes).

Second, The internet speed is measured in "Bits".

So to calculate the DOWNLOAD SPEED is by divide the internet speed with 8.

Example: 50 Mpbs / 8 = 6.25 MBps (Mega Bytes per second)

Why we divide with 8? Because We need to convert Bits to Bytes. 8 bits = 1 Bytes.

If you confuse please read "First to know" again.

Thank you.
